On 20–21 October 2026, two representatives of the Centralized Purchasing Operator (CPO), Ms. Roza Ndoj and Ms. Mirela Domi, participated in the regional workshop “Smart Procurement 4 Strong Governance”, held in Skopje, North Macedonia, and organized by ReSPA in cooperation with SIGMA/OECD.
The event brought together representatives of public procurement institutions from various countries, including Albania, represented by the Public Procurement Agency (PPA), the Public Procurement Commission (PPC), and the Centralized Purchasing Operator (CPO), providing an opportunity to exchange experiences and share international best practices.
Discussions focused on identifying and preventing irregularities in public procurement, the use of risk indicators (red flags), strengthening internal control mechanisms, transparency and accountability, as well as the role of digitalization in improving procurement systems.
Particular attention was also given to the proposed developments in the European Union’s legal framework on public procurement and the importance of aligning national systems with European standards.
Participation in such initiatives contributes to strengthening the professional capacities of CPO staff and encourages the adoption of modern practices aimed at ensuring more transparent, efficient, and accountable public procurement.
